Money & payments
Cash is used more widely in Japan than India; be aware that many smaller vendors and rural stops in Central India expect cash (INR) rather than cards, so carrying some is worthwhile even though hotels and lodges accept Visa/Mastercard. We quote in JPY and INR. Convenience-store-style ATMs are less common outside Nagpur city, so we suggest withdrawing what you need on arrival.
