Best time to visit
Open year-round in the buffer zone; the core zone runs mid-October to end-June. Peak sightings come in the dry heat of March to May, when animals concentrate at shrinking waterholes.

No park guarantees a sighting, but Tadoba posts the highest success rates in our records for multi-day itineraries, thanks to a high density of territorial tigers in a relatively small core zone.
How many safaris should I plan here?
We recommend at least four safaris across two to three days — enough to cover more than one zone and account for a quiet drive or two.
Is Tadoba good for photography?
Very — open teak forest and frequent daylight movement make for cleaner sightlines than the denser sal forests further north.
Which zone should I book — Moharli or Kolara?
Moharli is the busier, higher-density gate and our default pick for a first visit; Kolara sees fewer vehicles per sighting and suits guests prioritising a calmer drive over raw odds. We can book either, or split your safaris across both.
When is the core zone closed?
The core zone closes for the monsoon from July through September, in line with forest-department rules. The buffer zone around Pangdi stays open year-round if you're travelling in the monsoon months.
